‘Hari Phuljhari’ is a deep dive into the implementation of the Supreme Court’s orders regulating the manufacture and use of firecrackers. It explores how far the orders of the Court have been implemented and examine the systemic issues that hinder the same. Actress and UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador for India, Dia Mirza, has provided a prologue to the documentary. ‘

Hari Phuljhari’ is the first of five short documentaries, produced by Vidhi and Riverbank Studios, on key environmental issues in India. An accompanying case brief ‘Supreme Court on Air Pollution: The Case of Green Firecrackers‘ analyses the application of International Environmental Law Principles, and the balancing of Fundamental Rights performed by the court.
