Sumit Bose

Sumit Bose is Chairman of the Board of Directors at Vidhi. He is a former Indian Administrative Service Officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre and retired as the Union Finance Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Government of India in March, 2014. He was educated at the Doon School, Dehradun, St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and the London School of Economics, he joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1976. Amongst his key achievements, as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, between 1998 and 2003 he undertook the task of launching the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.
Uday Shankar

Uday Shankar, is the founder director at Marigold Park. He is one of the most successful and globally recognized Indian executives who created the biggest media and entertainment business in the Asia-Pacific region. Currently, he is a consumer and technology entrepreneur and is setting up multiple technology-led enterprises in partnership with James Murdoch. He is also the Immediate Past President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), India’s premier industry association, and was formerly the President of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF). He has served in several leadership roles including as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Star India, President of 21st Century Fox Asia, and most recently President of The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific & Chairman of Disney & Star India. He serves on the boards of global non-profit Malaria No More, and on the boards of Kotak Mahindra Bank and Business Standard. He also serves as an Advisor to the board of US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF). He holds a Master’s in Philosophy and Master of Arts (M.A.) Honours from Jawaharlal Nehru University. He currently resides in Mumbai.
Dr. Indu Bhushan

Dr. Bhushan is an ex-Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer (1983 batch, Rajasthan cadre). He holds a Ph.D. in Health Economics and a Master of Health Sciences from the Johns Hopkins University, USA. He is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology Banaras Hindu University (IIT BHU) and IIT Delhi, where he completed his B. Tech and Post Graduate Diploma, respectively. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Dr. Bhushan has a career spanning almost 40 years across a multitude of sectors. He served for nine years in the IAS prior to leaving government service. Thereafter, he worked as Senior Economist with the World Bank Group prior to moving to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in 1997. He served as Director General, East Asia Department of ADB. In 2018, Dr. Indu Bhushan was appointed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB - PMJAY), a flagship health assurance scheme of the Government of India covering more than 500 million citizens. He also initiated the implementation of the ambitious National Digital Health Mission (later renamed Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission).
Arvind P. Datar

Arvind P. Datar is Member of the Board of Directors at Vidhi. He is a Senior Advocate in the Supreme Court of India and has argued seminal constitutional law cases in the Supreme Court, particularly in the last decade. He is also an author, having penned a commentary on the Constitution of India, on excise law and a biography of Nani Palkhivala. He graduated from the Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai pursuant to which he carved out a niche for himself as a specialised indirect taxation lawyer in Chennai before shifting base to New Delhi.
Ireena Vittal

Ireena Vittal is Member of the Board of Directors at Vidhi. She is an independent strategic advisor, with significant professional experience in agriculture and urban development in India and emerging markets. She was formerly a partner at McKinsey and today serves on Boards of several leading companies in India and abroad, including Wipro, The Indian Hotels Company Ltd. and leading NGOs including Educate Girls. She is an alumnus of Osmania University and the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata.
Govindraj Hegde

Govindraj Hegde is Member of the Board of Directors at Vidhi. He is an Associate Professor, National Law School of India University, Bengaluru and holds the Ministry of Commerce & Industries Chair on International Trade Laws’ at NLSIU. His areas of specialisation are international trade law and conflict of laws and is an alumnus of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Apart from his academic publications, he has also served on several government-appointed committees, both domestically and internationally, on law reform.
