Sumeysh is the Programme Manager for the Nyaaya initiative. He completed his BA.LLB (Hons.) from Symbiosis Law School, Pune in 2013. Subsequently, he went on to pursue an LLM, specializing in Human Rights from the same institute and successfully completed the same in 2014. Before joining Vidhi, he was working as CEO of Nyayika, a non-profit start-up offering affordable legal services through law centers in Gujarat. He has also worked as a legal researcher in the Centre for Social Justice, Ahmedabad, focusing mainly on grassroots issues and providing research and operational support to field law centers. His main areas of research were on themes of minority welfare, fishermen rights and violence against women. He is interested in understanding how the law influences the relationship between the state and marginalized communities.
