Understanding India’s new directive on Litigation Risk Assessments

Shruthi Naik is a Senior Resident Fellow and Team Lead of the JALDI (Justice, Access and Lowering Delays in India) team at Vidhi. Her areas of interest include access to justice, inequality, gender and accountability in governance. Prior to joining Vidhi, Shruthi worked with the RefMig (Refugees are Migrants) project in Berlin, where she analysed access barriers to refugee recognition regimes in different jurisdictions. Between 2016 and 2021, Shruthi worked at DAKSH, where she worked extensively on access to justice and judicial policy reform, and her experience includes writing numerous data-driven reports on the functioning of the judiciary, working with the judiciary and government to improve the delivery of justice, conducting large-scale household surveys, and editing a book on the impact of judicial delays. She has also worked on general corporate and labour law matters at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. Shruthi received a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru in 2015 and a Master of Public Policy from the Hertie School, Berlin in 2023.
