In June 2013, the state of Uttarakhand was inundated with floods. Unplanned development coupled with disregard for the effect of hydropower projects on the ecologically sensitive landscape further exacerbated the scale of destruction. One community that was gravely affected were residents of Pouri, Uttarakhand. However, they stood resilient in the face of this destruction and brought to justice those who worsened their misery. ‘Ladenge Jeetenge’ tells the story of their courage and resilience.
