Join us for Vidhi’s Book Adda to discuss ‘A Good Life: The Power of Palliative Care’, the latest book by renowned writer and poet Jerry Pinto. This event is part of our ‘Good to Go’ initiative, which aims to destigmatise conversations around end-of-life care in India.

ABOUT THE BOOK

In A Good Life: The Power of Palliative Care, Jerry Pinto delves into the the realm of palliative care through the stories of patients, families, and devoted caregivers. With potraits and testimonies, the text transforms into a moving exploration of hope and humanity.  Their wish to live fully and meaningfully transforms our perception of palliative care, allowing the reader to reflect on own health, both in the present and in the future.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jerry Pinto is a renowned poet, writer, editor, and translator. He is the author of multiple award-winning books, including Em and the Big HoomMurder in Mahim, and The Education of Yuri. In 2006, his work Helen: The Life and Times of an H Bomb received the National Award for the Best Book on Cinema, and in 2016 he was honoured with the prestigious Windham-Campbell Prize for Fiction by Yale University, USA. He has translated significant works such as Daya Pawar’s Baluta and Sachin Kundalkar’s Cobalt Blue, among many others. He has also written widely for children, with several of his titles featured on the Parag Honours List. For the past thirty years, he has taught journalism at SCM Sophia. His most recent book is A Good Life: The Power of Palliative Care.
