Samvidhaan Summit – Series of Conversations on Legal & Policy Issues
Vidhi organised a two-day Samvidhaan Summit over 3-4 December 2020. On Day One, Justice Dama Seshadri Naidu delivered Vidhi’s Annual Lecture on the ‘Role of Constitutional Culture in Public Life’.
Day 2 of the Summit comprised of a series of conversations, starting from 11:30 a.m., around practical legal and policy issues, viewed from the prism of concepts under constitutional law.
Day 2 kickstarted with a dialogue on ‘Presumption of Innocence and the Constitution’ at 11:30 am with Mrinal Satish, Professor of Law, NLSIU, Bengaluru and Kunal Ambasta, Assistant Professor, NLSIU, Bengaluru. The dialogue will be moderated by Vidhi’s Neha Singhal.
This was followed by a Masterclass on ‘India’s COVID-19 Response and Federalism’ at 4 pm by Dr. Louise Tillin, Director, King’s India Institute.
Day 2 ended with a dialogue on ‘Gauging the Health of Electoral Democracy in India’ at 6 pm. Navin Chawla, former Chief Election Commissioner, Shruti Kapila, Associate Professor, Modern History and Politics, University of Cambridge, and Suhas Palshikar, Co-Director, Lokniti Programme, CSDS were the speakers. The session was moderated by Vidhi’s Ritwika Sharma.
