Panel Discussion on ‘Making Digital Education Inclusive’

Monday, 20 Jul 2020, 5:30 pm-Monday, 20 Jul 2020, 6:00 pm

The Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated an existing problem: the exclusionary nature of digital education in India and its impact on learners with disabilities. It’s time that we review the digital education landscape in India and make it more accessible and inclusive.

With this objective, the panel discussion, drawing from Vidhi’s briefing book for 2020, ‘Towards a Post-COVID India: 25 Governance Challenges and Legal Reforms’, highlighted existing legislative and policy gaps around accessible and inclusive digital education in India. It also presented some recommendations to help address this issue and make digital education conducive for learners with disabilities.

In this discussion on July 20, 2020, Vidhi’s Project Fellow Pooja Pandey spoke to Subhash Chandra Vashishth, Director, Svayam, Global Centre for Inclusive Environments. The panel was moderated by Dr. Dhvani Mehta, Co-founder and Lead (Education and Health), Vidhi.
