The Education team at Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy held an event to launch the report, ‘COVID-19 and Exclusion of Children with Disabilities in Education‘, on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, 5 pm.

This study was conducted by Vidhi in collaboration with Ektha Foundation, Prajaahita Foundation, The Association of People with Disability (APD) and Rural Development Trust (RDT).

About the Study

This study contributes to a limited body of work documenting unique challenges of students with disabilities in accessing education and rehabilitation during the COVID-19 pandemic in India, presenting insights from four states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. Further, through consultations with key stakeholders – students, parents, teachers, civil society organisations (CSOs) and government officials – it provides actionable recommendations for education and social welfare departments (state and centre). While the scope of the study is limited to these four states, the insights from the study are applicable across the country.

Presentation of study findings by the Education Team, Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy and partner CSOs. This will be followed by discussions and Q&A with the attendees.
