This quarter, Vidhi commenced litigation related to health and education in the Supreme Court and the Delhi High Court. Advance Directives – Vidhi made submissions before the Supreme Court in an ongoing matter concerned with ‘living wills. Senior Advocate, Mr Arvind Datar, represented Vidhi before a Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court in this matter. Vidhi has also been conducting legal research on the State’s duty to ensure inclusive education for children with disability. In furtherence of this, Vidhi filed a writ petition before the Delhi High Court for enforcement of inclusive education within schools. Vidhi also intervened in the Supreme Court in a related matter Discrimination against Leprosy Affected Persons – Vidhi filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court challenging provisions in 119 Central and State laws that discriminate against persons affected by leprosy.
