Job Title: Graphic Designer

About Nyaaya: Nyaafa is an open-access, digital resource that provides simple, actionable, reliable, and accessible legal information to all Indians. It aims to help citizens solve their day-to-day legal problems, make them aware of their rights and empower them to seek justice.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with team members to understand project requirements and translate them into compelling visual solutions
  • Create innovative illustrations, layouts, and designs using industry-standard software
  • Develop diverse content including brochures, merchandise, social media posts, impact reports, and video editing
  • Produce initial drafts and mockups, presenting design concepts for review and incorporating feedback as necessary
  • Manage content uploads to the backend of the website using WordPress, ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Refine designs through final revisions and prepare deliverables for team distribution
  • Maintain strict adherence to brand guidelines across all projects

Qualifications:

  • Strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics.
  • Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as Canva, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Mailchimp, etc).
  • Proficiency in video editing and knowledge of Premier Pro and After Effects.
  • Understanding of WordPress.
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Organized and efficient, with strong time management skills in fast-paced settings.
  • A degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tools.
  • Willingness to participate in external training programs.
  • Adaptability to evolving technologies and industry trends.

Additional Details:

  • This is a fully remote role, offering flexibility for full-time, part-time, or freelance working arrangements.
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience; we are ideally seeking candidates with 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication skills in English are essential.
  • Candidates should be able to commit to approximately 20 hours per week.

About the team: The team at Nyaaya consists of highly qualified lawyers from reputed institutions with a diverse work background in litigation, grassroots legal awareness work, training, content creation, and legal research. They are united by a common passion for making justice accessible to all.
