[Vidhispeaks] Exploring community data rights over non-personal data
To reject the promise of the concept of Community Data Rights because of the way it has been used in the Report of the expert committee constituted by IT Ministry, would be to throw the baby out with the bathwater

Aniruddh Nigam is Co-Lead, Legal Design and Regulation at Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy. He holds a Master in Public Affairs from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs, with a Certificate in Science, Technology & Environmental Policy. During his time at Princeton, he consulted with the International Finance Corporation and the OECD, working in areas of institutional risk governance and digital service delivery. Prior to this, he worked with Vidhi’s Centre for Applied Law and Technology Research and the Legal Design and Regulation team, where he contributed to a wide range of legislative initiatives and regulatory engagements and published research on technology policy. A graduate of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, his research and professional interests lie in technology policy, institutional design, development economics, regulatory theory, and the role of law as an instrument of statecraft.
