Lest We Forget: How did District Courts perform during COVID-19 Pandemic?
When it comes to the disposal of cases, it is very difficult to ascertain the reasons behind certain District Courts performing better than others. It is also evident that the urban-rural dichotomy does not stand.

Atishya is a Research Fellow with the JALDI team at Vidhi. She completed her B.A. LL.B (Hons.) from the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi in 2018 and went on to pursue her LLM in Human Rights Law from the University of Nottingham in 2019, for which she was awarded the Developing Solutions Master Scholarship. Shreya is a Senior Resident Fellow with the Justice, Access and Lowering Delays Initiative (JALDI). She is currently working on topics such as diversity, infrastructure and efficient budgeting in the judiciary. Her areas of interest include Human Rights & Judicial Reforms. She has publications in the Economic and Political Weekly and other law & policy review journals. She has also published in the Outlook and platforms such as Hindustan Times and The Print. She graduated with B.B.A.LL.B. from National Law University, Odisha in 2018. Prior to joining Vidhi, she has interned in organizations like Nyaaya, CHRI, SAHRDC and PLD.
