Launch of the Report ‘Re-Imagining Court Infrastructure in India’

Join the launch of Vidhi’s new report ‘Re-Imagining Consumer Forums’, a first of its kind interdisciplinary collaboration by the JALDI Innovation Lab at Vidhi with Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology.

The objective of this report is to apprise decision-makers on the necessity of specific thinking on court design and infrastructure since this has a direct bearing on efficient functioning of the court. Through a pilot study focused on consumer forums in Bengaluru, Karnataka, the report analyses who the users of the forums are, what spaces they occupy, and what the functions and requirements of such spaces are. In order to improve the status of consumer court infrastructure, the report puts forward design frameworks that guide the layout and structural requirements of consumer forums.

Justice A K Sikri, former Judge of the Supreme Court and Chairperson of the National Court Management Systems will deliver the Keynote Address at the event.

Mr. Aditya Sondhi, Senior Advocate, Karnataka High Court, has appeared before various legal fora in Karnataka and across India.
 
Ms Brinda Sastry, independent urban design and planning practitioner, currently Adjunct faculty in the Masters in Urban Design program at the RV College of Architecture in Bengaluru.
 
Mr Gaurav Raheja, professor of inclusive design and architecture at IIT Roorkee He is also Professor Incharge, Inclusion and Accessibility Services at the University.
