Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy and the Asian Studies Centre, St. Antony’s College, University of Oxford, have launched a series of five panel discussions with leading academics titled, ‘Understanding Kashmir and The Nullification of article 370: Law, History and Politics’. The fourth panel on ‘Kashmiri Politics in Pakistan and China’ took place on 23rd November 2021.

This panel will look at the parallel constitutional changes made by Pakistan in the newly constructed region of Gilgit-Baltistan, as well as at the role played by China in Kashmiri politics.

SPEAKERS FOR PANEL 4:

  • AZIZ ALI DAD, social scientist from Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan
  • SAMAR ABBAS KAZMI, Barrister, Lincoln’s Inn
  • VICTORIA SCHOFIELD, independent historian and journalist

The discussion will be moderated by Professor Faisal Devji, Professor of Indian History & Director of the Asian Studies Centre, University of Oxford.
