Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy and the Asian Studies Centre, St. Antony’s College, University of Oxford, have launched a series of five panel discussions with leading academics titled, ‘Understanding Kashmir and The Nullification of article 370: Law, History and Politics’. The fourth panel on ‘Kashmiri Politics in Pakistan and China’ took place on 23rd November 2021.
While the nullification of Article 370 tends to be seen as a purely Indian event, its context and consequences are necessarily international. This panel will look at the parallel constitutional changes made by Pakistan in the newly constructed region of Gilgit-Baltistan, as well as at the role played by China in Kashmiri politics.
