Software Engineer

Nyaaya is a legal-tech initiative, created by the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy and ideated by Rohini Nilekani, to make India's laws easier to understand.

We are on a mission to provide an accessible, intuitive, and user-friendly platform to explain the law on various topics, and we are looking for passionate engineers who want to contribute.

What Your Day Could Consist of

- Working on a cross-functional team, to implement new features on the main platform.
- Rapidly responding to and resolving debugging issues from client concerns
- Building RESTful API endpoints with JSON payloads
- Participating in morning stand-up sessions and regular planning meetings
- Roll out a new feature and analyze (and react) to the results you discover from our system services and end user feedback
- Writing test to ensure your code continues to function reliably
- Participating and giving and receiving meaningful feedback in code reviews
- Dedicated to performance and fast-loading conten
- Rapidly responding to and resolving debugging issues from client concerns

What we are looking for

- Experience with relational databases
- 1-2 years minimum experience with Node and Javascript
- Experience creating and maintaining React Applications
- Experience writing RESTful APIs
- Experience with AWS Infrastructure
- Familiar with CI/CD and tools pertaining to that
- Experience writing automated tests
- Care about the end user experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Being able to take a general idea and add your own insight and tweaks to it.

We are based in Defense Colony in New Delhi and are ideally looking for a candidate who will work out of this office but are open to Remote.
