About Vidhi
The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy (“Vidhi”) is an independent think tank doing legal research to make better laws and improve governance for the public good. Vidhi is committed to producing legal research of the highest standard with the aim of informing public debate and contributing to improved governance. Vidhi works with Ministries of the Government of India and State Governments, as well as other public institutions, providing research and drafting support at various stages of law-making. Vidhi also conducts and freely disseminates independent research in areas of legal reform which it believes is critical to India’s future.

About the Climate and Ecosystems Team
The Climate & Ecosystems team at Vidhi primarily works towards strengthening nature conservation through law. It is working to enable an ecosystem for legal and policy reforms in the conservation sector. The team undertakes original research and works in close association with various government and non-government stakeholders.
Role Description
This is a full-time position based in Vidhi’s New Delhi offices. The key responsibilities include:
- Conduct analytical research on parliamentary proceedings and track latest notifications and amendments to environmental laws.
- Assist the team in legal and policy research on natural ecosystems and biodiversity conservation.
- Draft and produce high quality research reports, policy briefs and content for newsletters.
- Organise and assist in coordination of meetings and consultations with stakeholders and partners.
- Assist with fundraising efforts, including background research, proposal development, and donor reporting.
- Support dissemination of research through events, stakeholder engagement, and other related activities.
- Contribute to other research, administrative, and team priorities as required.
Eligibility Criteria
- Undergraduate degree in law or a relevant field with 0–2 years of demonstrable interest in environmental policy.
- Proficiency in data analysis applications like MS Excel and other statistical tools.
- Good knowledge of parliamentary procedures.
- Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with legislators, or research experience on parliamentary proceedings.
- Publications in journals or media outlets on relevant subjects.
Location and Remuneration
- This is a full-time position based out of New Delhi.
- Remuneration will be competitive, in line with experience and existing structure at Vidhi.
