Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy would like to invite you to a Conference on “Law in Numbers: Evidence-Based Approaches to Legal Reforms” and the release of its third Briefing Book.

Spread over two days, the Conference will have four panel discussions. The details of the panels are as follows:

Date and Venue: 2nd December, 2016 at India Habitat Centre (Gulmohar Hall)

Panel I: Are Special Courts really special?
Time: 6:45pm
Speakers: Justice Gita Mittal, Judge, Delhi High Court; Dayan Krishnan, Senior Advocate, Delhi High Court; Dr. Mrinal Satish, Associate Professor, NLU-Delhi.

Date and Venue: 3rd December, 2016 at India International Centre Annexe (Lecture Hall I)

Panel II: Role of pharmaceutical regulation in meeting public health needs
Time: 11:30 am followed by lunch at 1:00 pm
Speakers: Dr. Badri Narayan Patnaik, Head of Clinical Research and Development, Sanofi India; Dinesh Thakur, Pharmaceutical Entrepreneur and Ranbaxy Whistleblower; Dr. Sita Naik, Advisor, Apollo Hospitals Educational and Research Foundation.

Panel III: Assessing the speed and quality of environmental review processes
Time: 2:00 pm

Panel IV: From the President to the People: The Executive’s role in implementing legislation
Time: 3:15 pm
Speakers: Ritin Rai, Advocate, Supreme Court of India; Dr. TK Viswanathan, Former Secretary-General, Lok Sabha and Former Law Secretary; KP Krishnan, Special Secretary, Department of Land Resources.
